St. Fennessy 4k

The first run on our list is the St. Fennessy 4k. This run is a part of the Grandma’s Marathon suite of races and is a St. Patrick’s Day themed event. The 4k run is taking place on Saturday, March 14th, at 10am. The race starts at Hermantown High School with the course finishing at Skyline Social and Games in Hermantown. The registration cost for this race is $30 for adults and $10 for youth, with all of the proceeds going to the Grandma’s Marathon foundation, the Young Athletes Foundation. Shamrock Pub Shuffle

The very next day, on Sunday, March 15th, the Duluth Running Company will be hosting the Shamrock Pub Shuffle at 2pm. This 2.8-mile fun run begins at Wild State Cider and runs through the Lincoln Park Craft District in West Duluth. As participants, you will run toward Bent Paddle, where you will have 15 minutes to grab a drink before moving on to the next stop, Ursa Minor. At Ursa Minor you will have another 15 minutes to grab a drink and then you will head back to Wild State Cider. The cost for this event is $20, each pub will be offering discounted drinks for participants and costumes are encouraged for this St. Patrick’s Day Celebration run! This run is for adults aged 21 or older, and you can register here duluthrunning.com/involvement/events/pubshuffle/.

Mustache March Run

The last race on our list in March is the Mustache March Run. The Mustache March Run, hosted by the Rex Bar at Fitger’s, is a 5k run/walk along the Duluth Lakewalk, with the start and finish line being below the Fitger’s stairs. This event is Saturday, March 21st at 5pm. Like the name mentions, this is a fun mustache run. Whether you are able to grow one or not, the run has you covered with fake mustaches being given to participants. One unique aspect of this race is they host a best mustache contest for the runners with mustaches, which takes place around 6:45pm after the race awards are given out. You can register for the race here mustachemarchrun.com.

Whether you run each event or one event, these are all great options to start or continue training for this running season!
